Question: Why doesn't the Take Action Now button work? Nothing happens when I click on it?
Answer: There are two potential reasons why this might happen. The link was opened but you did not “see” it get opened or your email is not responding.
1. You may not “see” what happened when you clicked on the Take Action button, if when you clicked on the Take Action button, you already had a browser open. (Having a browser open means that you were looking at a page or web site on the Internet). Check this already opened page to see if the Take Action page now appears here. Sometimes the Take Action page will appear in an Internet browser window that was already open on your computer.
You may not see a new Internet browser window open when you click the “Take Action” link, but that may be because an existing Internet browser window already open on your computer opened the Take Action page. You should check any open Internet browser windows that were open on your computer to see if they have the Take Action page. 2. Some email applications (software) do not like images with links and forms within an email message. If you click the link and are positive that your Internet browser is not responding (see 1 above) you may want to consider going to the NAR Action Center by clicking a link in the message or by simply going to http://www.naractioncenter.com This is not an issue with the email that NAR sent to you or the NAR Action Center. This is the way your email software works.
Question: I got the following message: “We're sorry but it appears that you are not eligible to participate in this campaign. This campaign is designated for constituents of the targeted decision maker(s) and based upon your address, it appears that you do not live in an area represented by the targeted decision maker(s). If you would like to correct your address information, please return to ...” Answer: The message can mean one of two things:
1. It may mean that your Member of Congress was not targeted by NAR for this particular Call for Action and so no action is required by you at this time.
2. It may mean that your address information in the Action Center is incomplete or incorrect, especially your zip code. If your address information is incorrect or incomplete, the Action Center may not have been able to match you to your Members of Congress. Please log onto the site using your email address and password and check you profile information to check your address. Because Congressional districts are sometimes so close together, you may actually need to include your zip code plus the 4 digit extension to match to your Member of Congress. If you don’t know your zip code extension, you can check for it by going to http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp.
Question: I tried to send an email to my Member of Congress, but it says she/he won't take it? Why is that, and how do I get my Call for Action delivered?
Answer: Some Members of Congress will not accept messages sent by email when that message is not submitted directly through the Member of Congress’ web site. This cannot be done through a third party system. If you get a response from a Member of Congress saying that they will not accept your message, please send that message to us at NARsupport@getactive.com. NAR works to keep up with all congressionally mandated web forms. Since the rules concerning these forms change very frequently we are grateful for the additional information.
You should also go to that Member of Congress’ web form and let them know that you disagree with their policy of not accepting these emails. You can do this by going to http://www.house.gov/writerep/ for the US House of Representatives and http://www.senate.gov/ for the US Senate. Follow the instructions to contact your Member of Congress directly.
If you would like to email your question to us please send it to NARsupport@getactive.com.
